They like the same as anyone else. I would do carrot cake for sure. Maybe coffee cake. I notice most older people don’t like things to be super sweet.

Um, why are old people any different than not old people? Any cake could be liked ot disliked regardless of age. Anyway, here is a light, simple recipe that tastes great & is easy & perfect for summer:

1 can (20 oz.) DOLE Crushed Pineapple, in juice, undrained

1 pkg. (1.5 oz.) JELL-O Vanilla Flavor Fat Free Sugar Free Instant Pudding

1 cup thawed COOL WHIP LITE or COOL WHIP Sugar Free Whipped Topping

1 pkg. (10 oz.) round angel food cake, cut horizontally into 3 layers

    10 fresh strawberries

MIX pineapple and dry pudding mix in medium bowl with whisk until well blended. Stir in COOL WHIP.

STACK cake layers on plate, filling layers and topping with pudding mixture.

REFRIGERATE 1 hour. Top with berries just before serving

I work at a cinnamon roll bakery and I’ve noticed that older people tend to order the rolls with walnuts, raisins and pecans more often than other rolls. I would keep that in mind while searching for recipes. I know many older folks also like rum soaked cakes. I’ve reduced sugar in many recipes and found that a less sweet cake or cookie is appreciated by people of all ages, but since many have health issues- finding a tasty cake with less sugar in it would probably be your best bet. Also try some zucchini bread, pound cake(w/blueberries)

This a really great cake idea that I think they would like. My friend used to make it all the time and it is delicious.

All you do is make a normal chocolate victoria sandwich (a cake rather than a sponge) and fill it with marmalade, either with or instead of cream. I think she used it instead.

I would avoid anything with nuts, and sell in small quantities; one slice will usually be enough.

    Good Luck
