I ordered one of these last week and when I received it, I was stunned… it was beautiful. From the dramatic wood grain, to the beautiful color, to the well crafted tongue in groove construction, this box was perfect. Then I noticed that the bottom corner was chipped, so I regretfully exchanged it for another. The exchange came today, and the lid was skewed by about 1/8 of an inch off the base to the point where when you closed it, the lid was hanging off one side, and not completely covering the other side. I’ve exchanged it for a second time now. Hopefully #3 will be a winner, because a non-chipped one with a properly fitting lid would be the perfect recipe box!

The recipe box is just what I wanted. The only thing that I was not aware of was the immovable divider inside. I would prefer to move the divider where I wanted it.

The recipe box itself is nicely made, beautiful, and looks like it will last through a lifetime of use.
I thought the expensive shipping charges would result in a nice big box with lots of padding, but the recipe box was literally squeezed into a shipping box like a hand into a latex glove. I felt one corner was a little smooshed as a result of it knocking against something. The receiver didn’t notice it, so that’s an indicator of how much smooshed. Seller promised me a $15 Amazon coupon for leaving feedback but I have yet to see it.

I ordered this sight unseen as a Xmas present for my Mother. When I opened it I was amazed at how nice it was. When Mom opened it she immediately stated it was going on the countertop and not hiding away somewhere in a cabinet. Very nice construction and the recipe holder on the top cover is a huge plus.
