Question by : How do you get sand off vegetables before cooking?
After washing my vegetables before cooking I still leave grit after cooking. How do I get all the dirt off?

You can boil them to get all sand and bacteria off.

    I would soak them raw in cold water to loosen up all the dirt and than thoroughly rinse

    Keep running them under hot water. I think boiling then cooking takes away some of the vegetable natural nutrients.

    Use hot water and scrub with a brush.

    Fill a large bowl with water, immerse the vegetables, swish around, lift the veggies into a strainer (colander). Dump out water, rinse out sand. Repeat whole process two more times. That’s triple washing. You should have no more sand in bottom of bowl after 3 washes.
