Which cooking oil smells the least while cooking?
Written by Guest on April 28th, 2011Question by Justin: Which cooking oil smells the least while cooking?
I like to cook but I hate the lingering smell that cooking oil leaves in the apartment and in my clothes whenever I use it to cook or deep fry food. Is there an oil that doesn’t smell as much as say vegetable or olive oil?

The oil really shouldn’t smell unless it is being burned… Although I have found that olive oil is the least smelly… after canola oil.

You might want to try peanut oil. I’ve used it & like it a lot better than the other cooking oils. I know what you mean about the smell, it is hard to get rid of. Good Luck!! have a good one.

if you don’t like to use olive oil try using Mazola Corn Oil for deep frying it doesn’t smell as bad and it is healthier for you.

I totally have to agree with you on that one I jpretty much use the same oils like olive oil which can’t withhold too much heat and good old vegetable oil because of it’s natural uses……… i find if you discard the oil asap(natually when it cools ) the smell will leave soon. don’t know any other oils tht won’t smell when hot enough to fry….
